Great place to stay... feels like you are in a neighborhood as all the long term campers around us were friendly and outgoing! We used the campground as a base for mountain biking and trail running in Buena Vista/Monarch. We will stay here again when in the area to enjoy there camper full hookups!
Had a wonderfulnweekend with a group of 10 rigs. RV hosts very helpful, friendly and congenial. The colors with the leaves changing was so beautiful. We will be back next year!!
Very nice staff. Peaceful. Staff is very helpful. It would be nice if the laundry was larger.
We were a last minute reservation, was put in an area they call the overflow which is mainly where the stored RVs and trailers are. This area has no grassy area and does not create a neighborly feel like the other sites that have lawn and trees in between. It's right next to the major roadway. They should not rent this area out as a site in a RV park. Also charged as with other spaces for full hook-up however we only had electricity. We asked about another space, #40 and was told it was rented, however no one ever parked there during the time we were there Friday - Monday. Luckily we found things to do in town and went to Leadville on Sunday to ride the train. We did not attend the Country music concert that was taking place over the Labor Day weekend as that was not our intention. We left EARLY Monday morning about 8:30 am, checkout is at 12:30 pm. Received a message Monday afternoon that we were being charged for another night as we had not left yet. Called the office and was told someone said we were still there, however we had said goodbye to one of the workers when we pulled out. It would be good to get a system of organization to first check the rented space before making a call so this type of incident does not occur. Staff is nice and helpful, but another spot would have been better for the time we were there. Instead of trying to make money should have been told that there were no more park spaces. We could have found another RV park.
The grounds and facilities are well maintained but this resort is not pet friendly as it advertises. They dont allow pets to be tethered on the grass meaning they would have to be on a short tether in the rocks behind your RV. Essentially keep them inside since they can't hang out with you on the grass which encompasses the whole front of your campsite. (By the way those rules are only enforced sporadically as we were closest to the office and those farther back were never told to move their dogs.) Also, not all sites have fire rings.
